rethinking what you do…

i have a good friend who has inspired me to be a better person – to give back. so here i am doing what i can do. a percentage of all sales from the “three sisters jewelry design” website is donated to a charity du jour. my first charity will be the “city of hope” – a comprehensive cancer center and center for groundbreaking biomedical research based in los angeles. www.cityofhope.org i will also be serving as the city of hope’s “ambassador of hope.” an incredible honor and one that makes me break into tears just thinking about it. anyway, feel good to know that a percentage of your shopping dollars will go toward cancer research. do you have an idea for the next charity du jour? please post a comment – i am open to ideas! THANKS for making a difference.

I have to make a plug for the little, grassroots non-profits…. Don’t know what you guys have in San Diego but I work with Pie Ranch, an educational, farm 2 fork operation that teaches city kids about food and their relationship to the land http://www.pieranch.org and of course, the race horse rescue Squarepegfoundation.org that takes horses off the track, turns them into lesson horses and works with autistic, learning diabled and other kids to foster esteem for both themselves and animals…
Do you guys have org farms nearby or farmer’s markets or anything anymore???
