we have a winner! lisa howard step right up… lisa named the new hand stamped necklace design “n0t-so-plain-jane!” we love it and think it fits perfect for the new design. look for it in the shop in 2012 (yes, that’s TOMORROW). lisa – e-mail us at info@threesistersjewelrydesign.com with your personalization and shipping info. thanks for all of our reader’s fab suggestions for the necklaces – there were so many good ones that they’ve inspired some new designs… stay tuned. i fell in love with this ring when i first saw it. i couldn’t really justify buying it on the spot – so i hemmed and hawed for a day and then went back. after all, i turned 40 this year – so i splurged and bought myself the diamond and turquoise confection. it’s huge and kind of tough to wear when i’m hammering or taking pix – in fact, it could double as a weapon. it’s HUGE. but i sure love it! so why am i posting it on the blog? well…because the lady i purchased it from sells beautiful, eastern indian vintage jewelry. i am in love with everything she sells. last time i saw her i bought a few trinkets that i’m going to incorporate into the three sisters designs. they are limited – but they are so, so gorgeous. very detailed and intricate. stay tuned – they will debut in the newsletter in january. have you signed up? don’t forget or you’ll miss out! sign up on the home page – www.threesistersjewelrydesign.com

i absolutely LOVED this little girl’s outfit. the yellow shoes, striped tights, fluffy skirt and then of course, her baby doll. i have photographed this family for a few years – but the pictures this year were a little extra special. my little fraeulein.

phew! what a month. december was a whirlwind for us. i learned quite a bit:
- 1. my eight year old has now moved to the “best presents are small” camp. my six year old boasted that her present was the largest under the tree and my 8 year old could have cared less. yawn.
- 2. one of my daughters’ top favorite presents are their beauty eye covers. they wear them while they sleep. santa scored with that stocking stuffer.
- 3. my youngest doesn’t need presents of her own, her older sisters’ presents will always be better.
- 4. i truly do not care if i get one single gift – i’m just happy it’s december and a great excuse to wear sequins, velvet, high heels, glitter and anything sparkly.
- 5. i am sad for my kids – i experienced triple let-down as i watched them unwind from the holidays.
so, to perk myself up i designed a new bracelet. it’s called “birdie” and there are only a few. i think i will keep one for myself to cheerfully welcome 2010! see it in the store www.threesistersjewelrydesign.com

ps – will update you on the new necklace’s name just as soon as i hear from the brownie mom judging panel. stay tuned…

i ran into these shell butterfly hair clips along the way… i love them. they’re so pretty and fanciful. they add a bit of interest to the usual outfit – put your hair up into a french twist and fasten with the clips! check them out in the shop under “fun stuff!” www.threesistersjewelrydesign.com

there is a very small moment in time when your kids are small enough to throw in the air, still want to hold your hand and sit on your lap, still need help with their shoelaces. i love these pictures – they are from a photo shoot with a very special family. the youngest son was SO happy to be thrown in the air by his dad. have you enjoyed that special little “moment in time” lately? if your child is still small enough to toss in the air, give it a try – promise that you will see a HUGE smile.

every year the girls make holiday gifts for our family. one year it was a pencil cup made of a can wrapped in fancy paper rolled in glitter. the next year it was a paper weight made of beach rocks we collected covered in feathers, pom poms and you guessed it, lots of glitter. i think my family probably dreads our gifts since their houses become covered in glitter. well this year…things have been a little crazy and i haven’t quite had my act together to think of something spectacular. so yesterday, as i pounded out some jewelry, the girls scoured the house for something they could make. it was completely their own initiative. elle found some pinecones and made glittery pine cone babies. jette pulled out some left over ikea bulbs and covered them in sparkles and glitter. and britt broke into the green paint when no one was looking and painted one of our new stepping stones (and herself) bright green. i was amazed that it was entirely on their own initiative. definitely the most special gifts yet.
