look around…
Jan 29
look around you and you will see factions of people trying to make a difference. teaching our kids to be a better and more responsible generation, helping nations in need, you name it and it’s happening…selflessness at all levels. the other day elle’s girl scout daisy troop helped sell baked goods at our elementary school’s fundraiser for haiti. as i stood watching the girls and all of the parents pitching in – i was amazed. i look at the gates and there were signs everywhere – no trash tuesday (bring lunch in reusable containers), recycling center of bottles and cans, snack drive for kids without sufficient food, school clean-up day, a large donation box for clothes and shoes for Community of Change. this is all going on at once at a little elementary school in north san diego county. amazing!
best wishes, zoe

And just think of how these little things are empowering our children to see that they can be the change that there needs to be in the world. I love no trash Tuesday lunches!

Thank you so much Zoe for this. It really means a lot to me. It moves me and touches me to be able to be a part of it all but it touches me even more, and brings tears to my eyes when it touches others, wanting to make a difference. I think that’s what it’s all about and that’s how we change the world. Cheers!

A conscious aware youth !!! It’s so wonderful to see how all of these things are just second nature to our kids. My daughter, Julia points out how disgusting it is to see someone litter. To her it is one of the greatest crimes – I agree. She is so aware that we have a used sofa taking up our garage. It has passed through my in-laws and now us – broken and well used. I tried to give it away – to anyone – even the local community groups won’t take it because it is in such bad condition. I finally said, “off to the dump” – only to be lectured by an 8 year old about how that will just pile up in the landfill and how terrible that is. So, yes, it is still in out garage. ugh !! I wouldn’t have our kids think any other way. They will be the generation to save our planet.
