there are no coincidences…

Apr 9

i am a true believer in destiny.  things happy for a reason… there are no coincidences… call it what you like – but too many odd things happen in my life that i can’t ignore.  annemarie, my mother-in-law, is the perfect example.  on a complete and total whim, annemarie and ted, my father-in-law, sold their home in virginia, packed up their car and moved to california.  they were established in their virginia life so it was pretty out of character for them – they had no idea where they would live, what they would do.  they stayed with us when they moved out and it was during this time that my mom became very sick, very quickly.  annemarie gave me the greatest, most important gift she could imagine – i was able to take care of my mom, hold her hand while she went through her stages, be at all of her doctor’s appointments, sit with the hospice nurse and take care of her.  i didn’t have to worry about the girls, about laundry, about housecleaning, about cooking.  annemarie did it all for me, no strings attached.  i am forever indebted that i had this time with my mom.  an unbelievable gift.  annemarie is one-of-a-kind.  she’s amazingly supportive, open-minded and the most positive person i have ever met.  she is perhaps my best friend – the first person i call when something exciting happens, the person i turn to when i need a shoulder to cry on.  i love her so much and am LUCKY she is in my life.  niels thinks she likes me more than him (true).  happy birthday annemarie.  i love you so much!

Here, here! I don’t know Anne Marie very well but from the few times I was able to chat with her, I could immediately tell that she is an amazing lady. It’s funny, how you can tell certain things about certain people right way. I don’t believe in coincidences either. It’s funny, I was watching Oprah last night and she said the same thing, that she does not believe in coincidences. Coincidence, I think not!

    Happy Birthday Anne Marie!

you make me love her too. Anyone that can do such wonders for such a great friend of mine is A-OK in my book. Better than that actually – I love her now.
