delish green beans…a la PF Changs…
Jun 17
i am fully obsessed with the spicy green beans at PF Changs. they’re so good that i eat them as my meal when i go there. well i am pretty proud…i figured out how to make them at home and now we eat them all the time. poor girls – i am burning out their taste buds before they’re even ten~ anyhoo, this is how you make them. heat a bit of canola oil in your wok (or pan, but do not use a nonstick pan) until REALLY hot and the oil is almost smoking. toss in a pound or so of trimmed green beans. sear the beans until they are charred but keep stirring so they don’t burn. i char them quite a bit because it creates a smoky flavor. pour in about 1/4 c. water and place lid on wok and steam for about four minutes until green beans are just cooked (don’t overcook!). add 2 tsp. of Lee Kum Kee’s Black Bean Garlic Sauce and 1 tsp. (or more in our case!) of Lee Kum Kee’s Chili Garlic Sauce. Stir fry for about a minute until well coated, add about 1 T of soy sauce and toss until heated through. you can buy Lee Kum Kee’s sauces in the Asian aisle of most large grocery stores. you will thank me for this one! so darn good.
best wishes, zoe

This sound so good – I love spicy food! Sadly, we don’t Lee Kum Kee in my part of the world but I’m sure I could find a good substitute.
