we just returned from our yearly family tradition – bass lake! this is the 61st year my family has been to bass lake. it’s a special place – a place of memories, fun, relaxation, time to collect your thoughts and renew. i feel great! a bit sad to be home, but happy to have such a special place where my mom spent her childhood, i spent my childhood and now my girls are continuing that tradition. i will blog about our trip this week but just wanted to let you know that….we’re BACK and refreshed!
it’s time to shut off the blackberry, close the laptop and tune out. it’s summer time after all and i really, really need a break. i have a magazine stack about a foot tall, a new swimsuit and some new sunglasses. i’m ready to chill. i have waves of being totally overwhelmed and i need to ride it. so here we go… time for a break. will you miss the blog? would sure love to return to some nice comments…. see you real soon! xo, zoe

posted in hand stamped jewelry designs,hand stamped jewelry press & promos | 2 comments | facebook fan pagewe have family visiting from denmark and virginia. my girls have been having so much fun – attention round the clock by big kids. they look up to their glamorous, grown-up cousins and are in total awe of them. when they left tonight, my girls cried wondering when they would see them again. it’s funny how you have that special bond with family, even if they’re a zillion miles away, living different lives. i stole my nieces away for a quick, impromptu photo shoot this evening. so fun and what beauties! so glad i could create memories for them and send them home with some pictures, california-style!

nothing screams “summer” like san diego county’s, del mar fair. it arrives in june and kicks off the summer. you either love the fair or hate the fair. i personally love the fair – i love it for the colors, the noise, the excitement and of course, the scary food. it’s dirty and expensive and yes, can be a bit depressing, but i still love it – it reminds me of my childhood and that makes me happy. it reminds me that summer is here and it’s time to change the pace – relax and enjoy the simple pleasures. niels and i took five kids to the fair. we were wiped out when we got home. but i was happy. i love the fair!
