an editing mission…{san diego high school senior photographer}

Aug 24

today i was determined to catch-up on my photography work.  it’s been waiting on me for a while – a mound of images to edit.  i hate to keep people waiting but i am finding that it happens – one of the downsides of being a crazed, busy person.  so today i sat behind the computer for six hours and edited and edited and edited.  my eyeballs are crossed but i feel so good!  relief!  here are a few of my favs from my editing session today.  lovely girls they are!

color or bw??? {san diego high school senior photographer}

Aug 15

i know i’ve asked this before but i like to check back from time-to-time.  what’s best?  black and white or color?  i had a fun hip house shoot this evening – so fun and easy.  i love doing them (lisa and zoe photography’s answer to the long, stressful shoot – quick studio shoot for a reasonable price).  i can never decide to offer the client color or B&W?  i tend toward color, but then i change my mind every day!

{updated} 21 girl salute…{san diego high school senior photographer}

Aug 7

UPDATED:  since it seems the lovely ladies are enjoying the sneak peek, i will be posting a pic of each girl as i edit.  so check back!

it’s not every day that you get to photograph 21 beautiful girls, let alone on the same day!  lisa and i tackled a monumental job – photographing a dance team of 21 beauties from a local high school.  it’s not something we normally do, but the director has vision and well… we know two of the girls and we love them!  how we could we say no?  so lisa shot in the studio – i shot outside, on-location.  i had tough lighting and had to keep it close so the girls didn’t have to walk all over the place.  the parents of these girls should be so proud.  these girls are all….well… “delightful.”  that is not a word that typically comes out of my mouth – i sound dumb saying it (i’m better off with “cool,”  “rad” and “awesome”), but these girls are special and well…absolutely delightful.  no attitude, fun, excited, friendly, talkative and polite.  what a treat.  here is a sneak peek of a few – i will post the others in a bit…. lots of editing to catch-up on!

nieces…cousins…family…. {san diego high school senior photographer}

Jul 6

we have family visiting from denmark and virginia.  my girls have been having so much fun – attention round the clock by big kids.  they look up to their glamorous, grown-up cousins and are in total awe of them.  when they left tonight, my girls cried wondering when they would see them again.  it’s funny how you have that special bond with family, even if they’re a zillion miles away, living different lives.  i stole my nieces away for a quick, impromptu photo shoot this evening.  so fun and what beauties!  so glad i could create memories for them and send them home with some pictures, california-style!

to texture or not?…or put more directly, to avoid my life or not?

Apr 20

this is very typical of me.  i am in the midst of the busiest season at Three Sisters (Mother’s Day – ack!)  – and instead of focusing on jewelry, i start journeying down another path and blocking jewelry out of my mind.  during fall holiday photo season, i started designing new pieces and blocking out photography.  i’m not sure how to label that type of personality – but whatever it is, i have a heavy dose of it!  as niels likes to say “that’s how i roll.”  anyway, my latest obsession is “texturing” images in photoshop – completely and totally unrelated to what i need to be focusing on.  in fact, a big waste of time at this moment in my day.  but i am thinking about it non-stop.  weird-o!  anyhoo – here are my latest texturized images from my sunday high school “senior” shoot.  too much?  too over the top?  i love a bit of drama, so i tend to like it.  but maybe i am blinding myself with the drama… or the avoidance of what is my life.
